Sussex Campus Hospital Status:
Part Time 80 Hours
Shift: Weekends SALARY RANGE: 17.83 - 26.75
HOURLY General Summary
Assists in planning and performing a wide variety of activities related to the care and development of children – age 8 weeks to 5 years.
Responsibilities- Provides and maintains safe, healthy, and organized classrooms throughout the Center.
- Maintains the care and well‑being of the children throughout the Center.
- Assists classroom teacher in planning and conducting age‑appropriate activities for children.
- Assists with monitoring tracking of children’s developmental assessment goals and objectives.
- Proactively assists with other assignments, as needed.
- Gives special attention and caring toward Center children and meeting child care needs.
- Promotes children’s wellness by following Center Sick Guidelines and Standard Precautions.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED;
Also requires:
Successful completion and certificate of Training in Early Care and Education, (TECE 1 and TECE
2) ~ OR ~ Successful completion of a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) ~ OR ~ Successful completion of a traditional high school career pathway program in early childhood education accepted by DOE. - Credential(s):
Delaware Educator Data System Certification Heartsaver - Within 60 days, if not already obtained. - Experience:
Required:
Six months’ experience working with preschool age or younger children in a group setting.

Associate Degree Early Childhood Education Or Associate’s Degree in child development. - Credential(s):
- Experience:
Preferred:
At least one year working with young children in a Child Care Center or school setting.
