Job Summary
This position reports to the Site Refueling Manager and is directly responsible for the supervision, assignment, and coordination of refueling resources to support safe, reliable, and efficient outage activities consistent with Vistra Fleet and station goals. Responsibilities include coordinating resources internally and with support organizations to ensure work schedules are completed during off‑outage windows, supporting new fuel receipt and dry‑cask storage, and managing all elements of refueling services personnel and contractor staff.
This role also involves oversight of maintenance on fuel handling equipment, tooling, and related corrective and preventive work.
- Qualify as a Vistra First Line Supervisor and supervise Refueling Services personnel and contractors.
- Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely, effectively, and in accordance with NRC regulations, procedures, and the site schedule.
- Participate in work‑control coordination, scheduling, and engineering meetings involving online and refuel outage activities.
- Communicate and address plant and personnel issues to the Site Refueling Services Manager and station management.
- Foster open communication and collaboration among all organizations, including site management, INPO, and regulatory agencies.
- Administer coaching, mentoring, and performance management for assigned employees.
- Ensure effective communication of company programs, policies, and announcements to employees.
- Support training, surveillance, procedure revisions, and CAP programs to maintain effective work practices.
- Collaborate with the Site Manager and Technical Assistant to identify and support improvement opportunities.
- Support maintenance of fuel handling equipment (PM schedules, corrective maintenance tracking, upgrades) and Refueling Services tooling (PM schedules, corrective maintenance tracking, upgrades, replacements).
- Coordinate with RP / decon for RCA work to perform tooling rebuilds and support tooling assessments.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation to resolve equipment and system problems; create notifications to track equipment issues.
- Assist with the preparation of plans, specifications, and work orders for site Refueling Services.
- Assist in reviewing the Refueling Services outage schedule.
- Perform safety and human performance observations of Refueling Services personnel during outage and non‑outage periods; coach and correct behavior gaps.
- Provide support for outages, outage readiness meetings, and mandate minimization of risk during highest risk periods.
