Design Technician C - Engineering

This position is part of the Bargaining Unit Local 29. Membership with the union is required if offered the position.

• Under direct supervision, perform drafting and field work requiring basic skills and knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or architectural fields.
• As instructed, prepare drawings, sketches, and graphs of moderate complexity required for the development and completion of a project.
• Check, revise, or correct drawings as instructed.
• Make field trips, normally with others, to determine layout and design and obtain necessary information and measurements as instructed.
• Perform manual tasks as necessary to obtain or provide required field information.
• Make necessary computations of a degree appropriate to the assigned drafting and field work.
• Prepare job material lists pertaining to the assigned work.
• Maintain job records and files pertaining to the assigned work.
• Perform other work related to the above as required or assigned.

• High‑school graduate with basic courses in mathematics and either physics or general science.
• Experience with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Micro Station (preferred).
• As an Apprentice Technician or equivalent, have demonstrated satisfactory performance, interest, and responsibility in the work for at least one year.
• Demonstrate moderate skill in measuring, drawing, and lettering.
• Demonstrate reasonable aptitude for making mathematical computations necessary to perform the duties of the job.
• Have general knowledge of company safety regulations.
