Encore Parkside is seeking a licensed registered dietitian
A qualified, competent, and skilled dietitian will help oversee the food and nutrition services in the facility. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing residents’ nutritional needs, developing individualized nutrition care plans, providing nutrition education and counseling, and monitoring resident progress. The Dietitian collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to improve resident outcomes through evidence-based nutrition interventions. The Dietitian will have the qualifications, competency and skills to carry out the functions of the food and nutrition services.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for residents
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans
- Provide medical nutrition therapy for acute and chronic health conditions
- Educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition, healthy eating, and disease management
- Monitor nutritional status and adjust care plans as needed
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated resident care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nutrition-related programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies and standards
- Stay current on nutrition research, clinical guidelines, and best practices
- Oversee the budget and purchasing of food and supplies if necessary
- Food preparation, service, and storage and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) when food and nutrition services are involved
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential
- Current state licensure or certification
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Must be licensed in DE as registered dietitian
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to travel between resident care areas as needed
