Christiana Care is seeking Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) to join our General Laboratory team at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. Christiana Hospital is a 1,039-bed teaching hospital and home to Delaware’s only Level I trauma center, providing a level of care available in large-scale teaching hospitals. • Evening Shift: 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
• Day Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Full-Time Flex - Evening Shift: 2:30pm - 11:30pm
• Weekend rotation:
  Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation: 2–3 holidays per year required

Eligible evening and weekend hours receive additional shift differential pay. During the application process, you’ll have the opportunity to tell us which schedule you’re interested in considering.

As an MLS/MLT in our General Laboratory, you’ll provide accurate, timely laboratory results that clinicians rely on to make important patient-care decisions. You’ll:

• Perform clinical laboratory testing accurately and efficiently
• Operate and maintain automated laboratory instrumentation
• Perform quality control and document appropriate corrective actions
• Verify critical values, specimen identification and test results
• Help ensure STAT and routine testing meets established turnaround times
• Follow laboratory quality, infection prevention and safety standards
• Collaborate with laboratory and clinical colleagues to support exceptional patient care

• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry or an equivalent bachelor’s degree that includes completion of required clinical laboratory rotations through an approved education program.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Preferred: ASCP certification
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and procedures
• Experience with automated laboratory equipment
• Ability to manage multiple tests and priorities with accuracy
