Job DescriptionWe are seeking qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to provide professional interpreting services across Delaware and surrounding areas
. Interpreters will facilitate effective communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals and hearing participants in a variety of settings, including community, medical, educational, and business environments.
Assignments may vary in length and setting, offering interpreters flexible opportunities to support accessibility and communication within the community.
Responsibilities- Provide accurate interpretation between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with the RID Code of Professional Conduct
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant terminology and context when available
- Work collaboratively with Deaf Interpreters or interpreting teams when needed
- Arrive on time and communicate promptly with the scheduling team regarding availability
- RID certification preferred
- State licensure or eligibility to work as an interpreter in Delaware
- Experience interpreting in community, medical, or educational settings is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Deaf culture and professional interpreting standards
- Reliable transportation to assignments within Delaware
