Full Time. Shift: Day shift. Salary Range: $85,009.60 – $ yearly.
The Manager of Public Safety directly supervises and monitors the daily activities of the department’s security team for assigned campuses and locations. This position also assists the Senior Director in the management of the Public Safety Department, as assigned. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Emergency Management, Public Safety, and Transportation Services. As an experienced leader of the Bayhealth Public Safety Team, this incumbent is responsible for ensuring the security, safety, and well‑being of all Bayhealth Properties and individuals there within.

The incumbent is a leader within the department and over an assigned team. The incumbent is responsible for leadership functions that include scheduling, training, hiring, discipline, and mentoring.
Their role is to implement tactics within the department to ensure that the department and organizational missions are met. The manager is required to understand and perform the functions of all roles in the department as necessary. While this position is typically assigned to work during normal business hours, there will be times when night and weekend hours may be necessary.
Additionally, this role is part of the organization’s emergency response function and may need to return during times of emergency. Department team members are authorized to have limited access to secured medication rooms to perform duties and responsibilities as defined in this job description. Any staff member requiring limited access to secured medication rooms must have a fully completed and signed Medication Security Agreement for Non‑Licensed Personnel form on file and available upon request.
