Shift Manager – Energy From Waste £Competitive plus great company benefits
Location:
Kent
MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Shift Manager to join a leading energy‑from‑waste facility in Kent. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the plant while leading and developing the operational team.
As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for:- Managing the day‑to‑day operations team, including technicians, operators and agency staff
- Supervising operational activities to ensure safe, efficient and compliant running of the facility
- Leading on health, safety and environmental performance, including investigations and reporting
- Ensuring all staff and contractors follow site safety rules and procedures
- Developing and maintaining operational procedures and risk assessments
- Coordinating maintenance activities and safe systems of work
- Supporting operational improvements and plant performance
- Managing and developing your team, including training, appraisals and competency
- Supporting recruitment and workforce planning activities
- Leading incident response during emergency situations
- Working collaboratively with maintenance, cleaning and operational teams
- Other duties as required
- Experience supervising or managing teams in an operational or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
- A technical background in plant operations, maintenance or similar
- Experience working with complex process systems such as power generation or similar industrial environments
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
- Experience managing performance, conflict and employee engagement
Knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work - Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ideally working towards or holding relevant qualifications such as HNC, NEBOSH or IOSH
