Responsibilities
  • Performs manual and machine operation of various types of production equipment such as filling various components or containers, batching, labeling, machining, sorting, inspecting and packaging.
  • Monitors and assures quality of product, makes simple machine adjustments, keeps equipment in good working order, performs frequent cleaning of equipment and work area, and counts and records production units and labor time.
  • Operate a diverse range of manufacturing equipment and perform tasks related to opening, closing, mixing, filling, loading, inserting parts, capping, tightening lids, sealing bags, etc.
  • Move around machinery to ensure all mechanisms operate properly, make adjustments, perform minor repairs, set-up and changeovers.
  • Stand at workstation for extended periods (8 hours or more) while operating equipment, packaging products, and visually inspecting products and processes.
  • Inspect product, fill cartons or containers, apply labels, stamp product identification numbers and expiration dates, and prepare final packaging.
  • Produce accurate paperwork and verify others  paperwork for accuracy.
  • Read scales to weigh raw materials and final products to ensure consistent high quality.
  • May use statistical process control and automated software/hardware to monitor quality.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures, wear PPE and other required gear, and adhere to formulation procedures, SOPs and good manufacturing practices.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as hand jacks and powered jacks.
  • Report production units, job numbers and labor hours accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area; meet or exceed department quantity and quality standards.
  • May provide basic training for new or contingent employees.
  • Ensure compliance with QA, GMP, SOP, FDA, 5S, and labor standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Certifications/Licensing
  • N/A
Years And Type Of Experience
  • 1 year of production experience preferred.
Key Required Skills, Knowledge And Capabilities
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic across units of measure, with familiarity in metric and decimal calculations.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and solve problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work accurately.
  • Cross-training to perform other duties within the department or as needed.
