Our Operations Group in Newport is looking for a Chemical Operator to support and guide production and testing equipment. This Operator will collaborate within our Manufacturing Group on a 12‑hour shift and report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.

• Guide and maintain automatic and manual chemical process systems of varying complexity in accordance with operating procedures, including programmable logic control devices
• Follow specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes and procedures to produce specific products according to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems
• Perform liquid/chemical batch manufacturing, maintaining a familiarity with a variety of production machines
• Comfortable working in or open to learning about C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly for hazardous material handling and solvent extraction
• Monitor and control process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates
• Route product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure
• Complete preventive maintenance on a regular, timely basis
• Resolve first‑line process problems such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, and setting adjustments; involve other experts as needed
• Support and uphold company safety and environmental standards: maintain a clean and organized work area, champion proper disposal of waste materials, contribute to safety improvement programs
• Adhere to all company policies including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance, and proper on‑the‑job conduct
• Shift work on a 12‑hour Dupont Schedule, day‑night rotation

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience
• Proven experience with C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly for hazardous material handling and solvent extraction
• Good written skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to work with MS Office tools
• Physical stamina for manual labor and lifting heavy objects
• Ability to stand continuously in one location for long periods (2–3 hours before break)
• Flexibility to work in shifts and handle occasional overtime as needed
