Newport, DE (MEDAL) – Manufacturing – Production

As a Manufacturing Operator, you will support the setup, operation, and maintenance of production equipment to advance the safe and efficient manufacturing of high‑quality products. You should have a safety‑first mindset and a foundational understanding of mechanical processes to monitor equipment, perform routine maintenance, and collaborate to resolve operational variations.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate and maintain production equipment
  • Follow specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes, and procedures to produce products according to the ISO 9001:2015 quality system
  • Install fixtures, tooling and other parts for machine setup to produce products using a variety of materials
  • Align and adjust machine settings, synchronize speeds, and oversee operation to ensure correct material handling and product construction
  • Activate machinery, adjust set points, and observe operation to detect and diagnose faults; report malfunctions to a supervisor or team member
  • Operate equipment in all areas of the plant, performing tasks needed to build the product and prepare it for shipment worldwide
  • Keep machinery and equipment clean, replace worn parts, and perform preventive maintenance as required
  • Record product information on data sheets or a computer database to complete the work order
  • Move material to the work area and load it into the machine for processing
  • Inspect product, setup, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
  • Inspect incoming materials and parts from the warehouse according to inspection procedures
  • Route product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure
  • Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure equipment operation conforms to production or process standards
  • Support the training or cross‑training of new operators in the work area
  • Adhere to the Company’s safety and environmental standards and become fully trained in safety procedures for the operation and use of equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area; ensure proper disposal of waste materials
  • Contribute actively to safety improvement programs
  • Comply with all Company policies, including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance, and professional conduct
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or 10 years of directly related manufacturing experience
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Good hands‑on mechanical ability with general knowledge of machines and tools
  • General knowledge of computer operation in an industrial environment
  • Self‑starter capable of managing workloads with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Military technical training
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds of materials, supplies, tools, fixtures, and equipment
  • Reach and manipulate controls on equipment
  • Perform work activities above ground level
  • Work with production chemicals, adhesives, and epoxies while using required personal protective equipment
  • Occasionally perform outdoor work activities in all weather conditions
  • Operate forklift and other material‑moving equipment
  • Perform job duties at all times of the day within plant operation
Working Conditions

The site operates 24/7. Most work cells are indoors and climate controlled; some work is outdoors in all weather. The operator’s work is predominantly performed while standing.

This position is identified as "safety‑sensitive" and is subject to random drug testing in accordance with the current Drug and Alcohol Policy and/or state law.

The candidate must have valid unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
