Role Overview
Air Liquide seeks a Chemical Operator in Newport, DE to support and guide production and testing equipment as part of the Manufacturing Group. The role involves operating within a 12‑hour shift schedule with day‑night rotation.
Key Responsibilities- Guide and maintain automatic and manual chemical process systems, following operating procedures, specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes, and procedures.
- Perform liquid/chemical batch manufacturing, maintaining familiarity with production machines.
- Operate in C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, handling hazardous materials and solvent extraction.
- Monitor and adjust process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
- Route product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot first‑line process pathways and equipment malfunctions.
- Uphold company safety, environmental and quality standards, including waste disposal, workplace cleanliness, and safety improvement programs.
- Adhere to all company policies, including attendance, safety, operating procedures, quality, and professional conduct.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience.
- Experience with C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments and hazardous material handling.
- Good written and computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Physical stamina for manual labor, lifting heavy objects, continuous standing.
- Flexibility to work shifts and occasional overtime.
- Good judgment, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
- Strong multitasking, communication, interpersonal, organizational, numerical, and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize time efficiently.
- Pay: $25.75 per hour.
