Excelcare at Lewes is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Preventionist (RN) to join our leadership team. This dual‑role position plays a vital part in supporting the Director of Nursing while overseeing the facility's infection prevention and control program to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents.

• Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations and supervising nursing staff to ensure exceptional resident care.
• Lead and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program in accordance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Monitor infection trends, EMARs, wound care practices, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all CMS, state, and local regulatory requirements through audits, education, and ongoing quality initiatives.
• Provide training, mentorship, and support to nursing staff on clinical best practices, infection prevention, and professional development.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized resident care plans.
• Investigate, track, and report infections, lead outbreak response efforts, and promote antibiotic stewardship initiatives.
• Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion while fostering a positive, team‑oriented culture.

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Delaware
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in long‑term care or skilled nursing preferred
• Infection Preventionist experience or certification (or willingness to obtain certification) preferred
• Strong knowledge of long‑term care regulations, infection control standards, and best practices
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Passion for delivering high‑quality resident care and supporting a positive team culture
