OverviewThis individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
Responsibilities- Provide accurate and timely assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients from six months to the geriatric population.
- Diagnostics – interpret electrocardiograms and lab test results accurately.
- Provide accurate and timely diagnosis and care management for patients with chronic illnesses (e.g., hypertension, diabetes mellitus, asthma).
- Promote disease prevention through effective risk assessment, coaching, and counseling.
- Provide timely and accurate completion of Annual Medicare Wellness physicals in accordance with Beebe Medical Group policy and Medicare guidelines.
- Handle unexpected emergent medical situations appropriately.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, co-workers, and healthcare providers.
- Demonstrate energetic, compassionate, and efficient work ethic with strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Other duties as assigned, including potential work at other Primary Care locations within Beebe Medical Group as necessary.
- 2–4 years of experience. Preference for experience in Family Medicine practice.
- Valid and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the practicing state.
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- DEA registration for prescribing medications (if required).
Essential:
Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
2–4 years of experience. Prefer experience in Family Medicine practice.
