Registered Nurse; RN - Oncology - Day Shift

Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology FT Day Shift (7a-7p), Newark, DE – Weekend and holiday requirements per departmental guidelines.

Christiana Care Hospital, located in Newark, DE, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6E Oncology Unit.

As an oncology nurse, you will implement a relationship‑based care model that focuses on building strong connections with patients, families, and colleagues, guided by our core values of love and excellence.

Unit 6E is a 38‑bed inpatient unit specializing in hematology and oncology, providing scheduled and emergency care and procedures 24/7. It accommodates patients who require inpatient care for diagnoses or for managing symptoms related to their treatments.

Services on 6E include cancer diagnoses, chemotherapy administration, and medical management of conditions such as febrile neutropenia, uncontrolled pain, and nausea/vomiting. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients, with conditions classified as either stable or serious. Patients are received, transferred, or admitted from a variety of sources, including homes, the emergency department, physicians’ offices, and other units within the hospital.

Education and experience requirements:

DE RN License or Compact RN License; BSN or commitment to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire date; BLS required;
Registered Nurse with 1‑2 years of experience in med/surg preferred;
Oncology certification preferred.

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 – $66.05. The pay rate represents Christiana Care’s good faith estimate and actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
