The Department of Economics and Business is seeking a reliable, friendly, and organized student worker to assist with front desk operations.
As a front desk assistant, you will be the first point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the department.
Tasks Responsibilities:
* Greet and assist visitors, students, and faculty in a professional and courteous manner.
* Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
* Handle routine clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
* Assist with event planning and coordination, including preparing materials and setting up rooms.
* Distribute mail and manage office supplies inventory.
* Support departmental projects and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Must be a current student at OWU preferably enrolled in the Economics or Business program.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software.
* Able to make Canva Fliers and materials.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Previous office or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
