Student Worker – SIO Desk Assistant
The OWU Student Involvement Office (SIO) is seeking an enthusiastic, customer service-oriented Desk Assistants to support the daily operations of the SIO Information Desk. This role serves as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. This role provides excellent customer service by assisting with campus inquiries, directing student organizations to appropriate resources, and supporting SIO programs and services.
Successful candidates should demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn new skills, technology, and campus resources.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Attend training sessions and demonstrate proficiency in understanding of the Student Involvement Office's services, resources, and procedures
- Support and execute event management details for office events and programs
- Answer phone calls, direct calls to the correct office/department, and take detailed phone messages
- Manage online resources including the Student Involvement Office website, email, Engage, and HWCC digital signage
- Manage and update the SIO social media accounts with information about upcoming training, events, and opportunities to get involved
- Create and distribute SIO marketing to effectively promote campus events
- Manage office supplies and spaces to ensure it is kept organized and tidy
Qualifications/
Skills:
- An SIO Desk Assistant should have good communication skills, must be dependable and willing to learn, and willing to provide excellent customer service.
- Must be a current full-time OWU enrolled student and have federal work study.
