We're looking for an experienced residential construction professional who enjoys working with people just as much as working with houses. The ideal candidate is an organized project manager, a patient teacher, an encouraging coach, and someone who can create a job site where volunteers feel welcomed, valued, and excited to return.

What You Will Do:

Construction
  • Take charge of each exciting new-home build from groundbreaking through dedication ceremony- managing scope, budget, schedule and people to ensure successful outcomes for our clients and our team.
  • Supervise and lead on-site construction activities including sub-contractors and construction volunteers.
  • Champion jobsite safety and foster a safety-first culture ensuring that safety guidelines are followed on-site and that adequate training is provided to daily volunteers.
  • Organize and plan construction schedules and associated costs to achieve completion of projects within the time and funds allocated.
  • Obtain all appropriate permits, inspections, and certificates for construction activities.
  • Consult with professionals as needed on site plans, architectural/engineering drawings and zoning to ensure that all specifications and regulations are appropriate and approved.
  • Procure all materials needed for projects and organize ordering and delivery of materials and supplies to the jobsites to maximize efficiency and continual progress.
  • Maintain tool and equipment inventory. Coordinate tools and equipment needed among job sites.
  • Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere throughout the scope of all projects.
Administrative
  • Assist with land purchasing decisions and entitlement.
  • Plan for future construction cycles.
  • Properly code and approve invoices for purchased materials and all other construction related expenses.
  • Document in-kind donations and services and communicate these with finance department.
  • Ensure contractors licenses, certificates of insurance for general liability and workers compensation are on file for each subcontractor utilized.
  • Work with volunteer coordinator to create volunteer construction opportunity schedules.
  • Assist future homeowners with home options and upgrade selections.
What We Are Looking For :
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in residential construction management, same or similar role.
  • Detailed knowledge of processes, principles, and best practices in residential construction, including risk management and safety.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local and state building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard residential construction blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to create material allocations.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • High level of attention to detail and quality control.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Exceptional people skills. Ability to confidently direct construction activities while encouraging and coaching volunteers with little or no construction experience, helping every person feel welcomed, successful, and appreciated.
  • Ability to represent Habitat for Humanity and its mission as one of our most visible staff members both on the build sites and at community events.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Executive Director. Salary range for this position is $75-$85k based on experience. HFHDUC offers a comprehensive employee benefits package including medical, dental, vision and paid time off.
