Student Worker - Werner Gallery Coordinator

Fine Arts is seeking a student, art major or minor, that is motivated to promote and cultivate student art from OWU studios. This position requires working and communicating with a range of people in the OWU community: students, staff and faculty, as well as maintaining the social media. The work hours are flexible but the position may require availability during weekends.

Core responsibilities of the Gallery Coordinator position include:

• Assist with installments of the exhibits, (there should be 2-3 exhibits per semester)
• Promote exhibits and Werner Gallery space to students and OWU community
• Maintain the inventory of gallery supplies/tools.

Core responsibilities of managing collections include:

• Maintain the inventory of works in the Kalb collection, and the departments Instagram account.

Skills and qualifications include:

• Strong organizational skills
• Good time management
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge to operate with basic power tools
• Capacity to lift and move items, (approximately 30
  -50 pounds weight)
• Familiarity with Google Cloud platform.
• No previous experience necessary
• Needs to be art major or minor

Tasks & responsibilities include:

• Cleaning, moving materials and maintenance

Qualifications:

• Prefer art major/minor

Potential future career benefit:

• Understanding the requirements for maintaining an art gallery and art collection
