Transportation Engineer - District Traffic, PN

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review safety studies for high-crash locations and system-wide improvements
• Assist in coordination of access management along state routes
• Conduct and review studies for speed zones and signal warrants
• Review traffic impact studies for private site developments

• Ability to communicate with public, locals, and developers
• Familiarity with traffic tools such as HCS, AASHTOWare/ECAT
• Familiarity with ODOT and local requirements
• Licensed as a registered professional engineer by the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
• Minimum 12 months of experience as a group or project leader providing work direction and training to engineering technicians and/or lower-level engineers, or 12 months of experience conducting engineering-related research (for staff specialist positions)
• If assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to and inspect project sites, a valid driver’s license is required
• Equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration
