Responsibilities
- Serve as Architectural Engineer (AE) to provide conceptual and detailed design of building architecture in post‑sales stage.
- Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.
- Perform detailed design of mechanical parts – wall and floor penetrations, doors and door hardware, flashing and sealing, water mitigation, etc.
- Create designs that meet or exceed Vertiv quality requirements and fall within budgetary limits.
- Provide detailed Schematic Design (SD), Detail Design (DD) and Construction Drawing (CD) narratives for architectural design aspects of the solution.
- Review and approve architectural product submittals.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers on thermal transfer calculations (fire ratings and thermal bridges).
- Specify material and finish details.
- Collaborate with Vertiv’s business units, partners and preferred vendors to specify appropriate material specifications and sizes for fabrication.
- Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during construction.
- Coordinate between structural and civil work design.
- Provide technical project coordination with customers and suppliers.
- Perform quality control during execution.
- Support on‑site module repairs (e.g., damaged paint, door malfunction).
- Travel to fabricator facilities for design validation, workmanship review and engineering evaluations.
- Communicate with customers to design best‑possible solutions that meet their needs.
- Offer creative, out‑of‑the‑box solutions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering or acceptable experience.
- Professional engineering (PE) License – optional.
- Minimum 2 years of architectural engineering experience.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes governing low‑voltage switchboard installation and use.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
- Understanding of local and national building codes.
- Ability to interpret customer specification requirements.
- Capability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
- Creativity to find innovative solutions that reduce costs without compromising quality, reliability, or maintainability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented.
- Proven leadership and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven project management skills.
No special Physical or Environmental requirements.
Travel Requirements10% travel required.
