Job Description
This is an Associate Lab Operations Engineer role in the Product Integrity department of the Power Management business unit. The Product Integrity team sets up and executes test cases to validate new AC Power products, which may have a regional or a global scope.
This hybrid role combines hands‑on test execution with ownership of the lab calibration program and leadership of capital project coordination and lab operations. The successful candidate will balance bench work with project management, vendor coordination, and equipment lifecycle tracking to keep the lab running efficiently and capital initiatives on schedule.
This position will be based onsite at our Delaware, OH location.
Responsibilities Test Execution (~33%)- Follow safety policies.
- Set up the unit under test and other equipment, including connecting large cables (up to 50 lbs).
- Set up instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power meters, CTs, voltage probes, and other equipment).
- Execute test cases, operate the unit under test and instrumentation, collect data, and document results.
- Troubleshoot and correct problems with test setups and units under test.
- Participate in daily stand‑up meetings.
- Keep work areas and test labs clean and safe.
- Own and maintain the lab calibration schedule; ensure all test and measurement equipment is calibrated on time and within required intervals.
- Coordinate with internal and external calibration service providers.
- Maintain the equipment asset database, including location, status, calibration due dates, and disposition of out‑of‑tolerance instruments.
- Investigate and document out‑of‑tolerance conditions; support impact assessments when calibration failures occur.
- Identify opportunities to streamline the calibration process and improve equipment availability.
- Maintain calibration records, certificates, and traceability documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Assist with CAPEX project execution, including financial tracking, project paperwork, schedule tracking, and status reporting.
- Develop and maintain project schedules; track milestones, deliverables, and action items to completion.
- Coordinate with vendors for quotes, deliverables, scheduling, and issue resolution on lab infrastructure projects.
- Assist the lead technician with purchase orders, repair coordination, and return‑to‑vendor processes.
- Track project spend against approved budgets and flag variances to stakeholders.
- Prepare project status updates and participate in project review meetings.
- Manage multiple concurrent project tasks, prioritize workload, and proactively raise risks or blockers.
- Maintain organized project files, documentation, and change logs.
- Suggest continuous improvement opportunities across all areas of responsibility.
- Associate of Science in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent military certification.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in an electrical test lab, manufacturing, or similar technical environment.
- Experience with 208/230/480V/600V 3‑phase and 120V 1‑phase wiring and equipment.
- Ability to read electronic and electrical schematics; strong troubleshooting skills with AC/DC power circuits.
- Experience with calibration programs or equipment asset tracking.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects: developing schedules, tracking milestones, coordinating vendors, and communicating status.
- Experience with purchase orders and vendor/supplier coordination.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities and drive tasks to completion.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 or ANSI/NCSL Z540.3.
- Experience with calibration management software (e.g., Fluke MET/CAL, Beamex CMX) or CMMS.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- PMP, CAPM, or project management coursework.
- Shift/schedule flexibility for short periods/projects is a plus.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
