Tri-State Physical Therapy (TSPT), a division of Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, is seeking a part-time Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our well-established and growing physical therapy Practice in our North Hills office located in McCandless.
Aquatic and Fall Prevention experience a plus!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Adhering to a part-time weekly work schedule of 16 hours in our North Hills office.
- The primary responsibility will be to assist the Physical Therapists (PT) in carrying out an Aquatic and Fall Prevention Program.
- Implementing treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the PT.
- Assisting the PT in carrying out the following therapeutic interventions designed to meet the patients' long-term goals:
Posture training, strengthening exercise, endurance/cardiac training, balance exercises, coordination exercises, joint mobility and muscle lengthening, pain relief, functional skills training and community re-entry training. - Instructing patients in the use of prescribed equipment if necessary.
- Preparing daily clinical notes and routine progress reports.
- Instructing patients and family members regarding in-home exercise programs and activities of daily living.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all medical record, facility and rehab-related information.
- Maintaining accurate billing information in accordance with facility procedures daily.
- Complying with the documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility.
- Assisting with staff/family member training and education when appropriate by formal and informal in-services, as well as consultations.
- Reviewing and adhering to the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Tri-State Physical Therapy.
Qualifications:
- Physical Therapist Assistant education, obtained in a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)-accredited two-year Associate Degree program.
- Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure/Certification.
- Competency in therapy treatment principles, techniques, materials and equipment utilization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficient in navigating through electronic medical records.
