Wieland is hiring a Human Resources Generalist
. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of functions to support the Human Resources department and managing the day-to-day administration of various HR policies and procedures across the Wieland Delaware site(s). Serves as first point of contact and employee liaison to centers of excellence for payroll, benefit and talent acquisition issues. Handles HRIS entries, reporting from HCM and time tracking systems, policy administration and communication, hourly recruiting and on-boarding and other HR processes.

This role is located in Delaware, OH
, and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities:

Employee Relations Serve as employees’ first point of contact and employee liaison to appropriate parties to investigate issues and obtain suitable resolutions. Communicate and facilitate clarification on adherence to policies and procedures. Support local community engagement activities. Conduct Tier I employee investigations.

Talent Acquisition Support Coordinate with Talent Acquisition team to initiate job requisitions and employment offers. Conduct new employee orientation sessions to provide important information about jobs, company, benefits, policies and resources. Serve as a resource to new employees with questions. Assist with recruitment hiring events and local campus events.

Payroll Support

  • Train supervisors to reconcile time and attendance records in time tracking system for unscheduled work and time off. Periodically audit.
  • Manage attendance tracking system and issue warnings per policy.
  • Communicate with Payroll Coordinator on pay, deductions, garnishments, adjustments, etc.

Benefits Support

  • Educate employees about and promote health, life, disability, retirement and other benefits offered. Coordinate with and elevate issues to the WNA Benefits team as needed.
  • Coordinate with Benefits team to track FMLA hours and STD/LTD status and refer employees to contact WNA Benefits team to initiate the leave process. Coordinate with managers on the return-to-work process/approval for employees with restrictions.
  • Serve as a wellness champion and promote employee involvement in the Vitality program.
  • Schedule on-site benefits events and educational seminars for employees.

Administration

  • Enter new hires, terminations and employee status changes into HCM and time tracking systems and verify accuracy.
  • Maintain electronic employee records.
  • Maintain role descriptions.
  • Support HR Manager in ensuring compliance with all company policies.
  • Support the Safety organization with open Workers Compensation cases.
  • Administer the Rewards and Recognition program; provide certificates for service anniversaries.
  • Provide various reports for month-end reporting and as requested.
  • Update documents for HR department as needed.

Additional Accountabilities

  • Support special projects and duties as assigned.

Human Resources Generalist

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HR Certification preferred (PHR).
  • 5+ years HR Generalist experience.
  • Prior experience working with HRIS systems preferred.
  • Excellent MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
