Economics And Business Organizer-Student Worker

The Department is seeking a detail-oriented student worker to assist with organizing and improving the department's shared storage closet. The student worker will help create a clean, efficient, and sustainable system for storing and accessing departmental supplies and materials.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Sort and organize materials and supplies currently stored in the department closet.
  • Develop logical categories and an efficient storage system.
  • Label shelves, bins, and storage areas to make items easy to locate.
  • Conduct an inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Identify duplicate, outdated, or unneeded items for review by department staff.
  • Assist with creating an inventory list or spreadsheet.
  • Help determine appropriate locations for frequently used versus less frequently used items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the project.
  • Develop recommendations for maintaining the organization system over time.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
  • Comfortable sorting, categorizing, labeling, and documenting materials.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with spreadsheets, preferred.
  • Dependable and able to complete tasks in an organized and timely manner.
