Job Description
The Sr. Standards & Compliance Manager, is a senior technical leadership role responsible for shaping Vertiv’s external influence and internal alignment across advanced power system architectures, industry ecosystems, and standards frameworks in Data Center applications. This role leads and coordinates Vertiv’s Power
BU engagement in consortia (e.g., OCP) and aligns enterprise positions on Codes (NEC, NFPA, etc) and Standards (UL, IEC, etc) to ensure Vertiv’s approach is consistent, defensible, and influential.
- Serve as Vertiv’s senior technical representative for advanced power systems in industry ecosystems and technical forums.
- Influence industry direction on next-gen architectures (e.g., high-density power, DC/hybrid AC-DC, storage integration, MV/LV interfaces).
- Coordinate Vertiv participation across Product Lines; drive one aligned Vertiv position, messaging, and participation plan.
- Prepare position papers, briefs, and executive summaries; advocate Vertiv’s viewpoint externally.
- Engage directly with hyperscalers, utilities, and ecosystem partners on future system requirements and deployment models.
- Position Vertiv as a thought leader via contributions, panels, and technical outputs.
- Lead & coordinate Vertiv’s system-level positions on codes/standards/regulatory topics tied to advanced architectures.
- Identify gaps/conflicts/risks between emerging architectures and existing codes/standards; drive internal alignment.
- Support customer and industry discussions with credible system-level interpretation of codes and standards.
- Develop internal guidance and executive-ready summaries on direction, implications, and decisions.
- Act as the central interface between external engagement and internal system architecture development.
- Ensure industry learnings translate into reference architectures, design guidance, and roadmaps.
- Brief executive leadership on trends, architectural implications, and forward-looking risks/opportunities.
- Lead or support arc flash, GFD, and related system-level safety analyses to inform architecture, standards, and service positions.
- Preferred expertise: GFD, arc flash, grounding/protection-related topics.
- BSEE (or related).
- 15+ years in power systems, power electronics, or advanced infrastructure architectures.
- Demonstrated, hands‑on standards & compliance experience required (product & systems experience preferred).
- Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, UL (and similar) required.
- System‑level expertise across conversion, distribution, and integration.
- Strong external‑facing experience with customers/industry groups/consortia.
- Proven ability to operate across large, matrixed global orgs; executive‑level communication.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Hands‑on design experience in power / power electronics preferred.
- Participation in standards bodies / technical working groups (e.g., OCP, IEEE, IEC, UL).
- Experience with next‑gen architectures (DC distribution, SST, high‑density AI power, storage integration).
- Preferred expertise: GFD, arc flash, and related safety domains.
- Up to ~30%, domestic & global.
