Job Description SummaryProvides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The Department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing, delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs using criteria from the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, and delivers professional nursing care services according to department policies and nursing care standards.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable to the population and/or individual (30%).
- Outcomes Identification/Planning – Documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems (30%).
- Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes, revising the plan of care as needed while working with a multidisciplinary team (20%).
- Leadership – Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
- Operations – Ensures safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties as part of a High Reliability Organization (HRO) (10%).
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current RN license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
- BLS certification.
- BSN mandatory within 5 years of employment.
- Must hold a valid BLS, RN, and BSN (or be able to obtain BSN within 5 years).
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
- BLS certification.
- BSN required at 5 years of employment.
