Quality Engineer
We are seeking a Quality Manager/Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the development and implementation of an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System while owning key Supplier Quality initiatives. This role involves building quality processes from the ground up, driving certification efforts, improving supplier performance, and ensuring compliance across manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional experienced in creating or enhancing a QMS, leading audits, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System (QMS).
- Conduct QMS gap assessments and create implementation roadmaps for certification readiness.
- Establish and manage document control processes, including procedures, work instructions, and revision control.
- Develop and execute internal audit programs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate Management Review meetings and track quality KPIs, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare for and support external audits and ISO certification activities.
- Own Supplier Quality processes including supplier qualification, onboarding, audits, scorecards, and performance metrics.
- Lead supplier and internal corrective actions utilizing 8D, A3, 5 Why, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Develop incoming inspection plans, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria.
- Drive quality improvements through SPC, MSA, capability studies, trend analysis, and data-driven decision making.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes while ensuring supplier readiness and quality controls are established.
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with Supplier Quality programs and supplier development.
- Experience building, implementing, or improving an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Internal Auditor certification or training.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with document control, process mapping, and procedure development.
- Strong problem-solving skills utilizing 8D, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone, or similar methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, GD&T, and inspection requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification.
- Welding inspection experience.
- AWS/CWI Certification.
- Experience with SPC, MSA, capability studies, and statistical quality tools.
This position is based on-site.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Delaware, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
