Responsibilities- Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked food service area of the store with knowledge of food service programs, product offerings, equipment, and standard operating procedures; assist other associates with food service knowledge to grow food service sales.
- Provide outstanding service to guests by following the Hi Five Guest Experience (Invited, Welcomed, Well-Served, Respected, Fulfilled) and, in the absence of a higher-level manager, through other associates on duty during the shift.
- Follow company policy to ensure safe and efficient operation of the store; conduct work honestly and ethically in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and requirements. Lead may conduct all sales transactions including alcohol and tobacco sales where legally qualified.
- Turn on and stock the Roller Grill per Production Guide; ensure all products are correctly dated and food safe.
- Prepare fresh condiments using correct food service dating procedures.
- Turn on HTG Oven & HTG Warmer; prepare sandwiches per Production Guide & SOPs; place on warmer with correct expiration times.
- Maintain temperature logs for all food service areas, including Dipside.
- Maintain product availability for prepared food areas Monday-Friday, 5AM-12PM (HTG Warmer, Roller Grill, deli case).
- Prepare Dipside area in the morning to ensure ice cream is stocked and in proper condition for guest consumption.
- Place orders or coordinate with Management to prevent out-of-stocks for food service products, condiments, and supplies.
- Perform wash, rinse, and sanitizing activities for all food service smallwares to ensure food safety.
- Maintain cleanliness of food service areas (Roller Grill, condiment area, HTG Warmer, Bakery Case, Dipside, Fountain, and Hot Beverage areas).
- Keep all food service areas organized and clean according to SOPs and maintain equipment and storage areas.
- Stay up to date with program changes and SOPs; train and support associates to execute food service programs during shifts.
- Provide the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience; greet Guests, ensure store readiness, anticipate needs, and help ensure guests leave satisfied with the intention to return.
- Dip Side Guest Services:
Prepare shakes/malts, ice cream cups/cones, sundaes, floats/sodas, and hand-packed containers. - Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system correctly, including gas sales, transactions, and handling payments and coupons.
- Stock merchandise: keep shelves, displays, and coolers filled; ensure dip cabinet is stocked and properly rotated.
- Maintain security: monitor guests, manage cash drops, and follow tobacco/alcohol and robbery/violence deterrence procedures.
- Maintenance: keep store and parking lot safe and clean; monitor temperatures of refrigeration equipment; ensure bean-to-cup coffee machines are cleaned.
- Reporting: complete time records and guest preparedness documentation accurately.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
- Communication: ability to speak and understand English effectively.
- Food Safety: ability to become Food Safety certified subject to UDF and state requirements.
- Ability to operate store equipment, including POS terminal and gas console.
- Ability to handle cash, credit transactions, checks, coupons, and food stamps; make change accurately.
- Ability to understand operating instructions and perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prep Dip Side items using dip cabinet supplies.
- Physical ability to lift up to 10 pounds from floor to 5 feet; move merchandise and operate equipment; tolerate low and cool temperatures as required (as low as –30°F for up to 2 minutes and as low as 33°F for up to 10 minutes).
- Ability to place an 8" x 10" x 10" package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet with its top at 3 feet.
