Rental Lead

Hardware Rental Lead (Full-Time)

E&H Ace Hardware is seeking a motivated and customer-focused leader to manage the rental department’s daily operations. This role ensures excellent customer service, maintains rental equipment processes, and fosters strong customer relationships.

• Answer rental inquiries via phone, providing rates and quotes
• Write and maintain daily contract, reservation, and customer charge files
• Check rental equipment in and out daily
• Schedule rental equipment pick‑up and delivery
• Track and update daily overdue rental list
• Train customers on proper use of rental equipment
• Load and unload rental equipment safely
• Address and resolve customer complaints professionally
• Train store employees on rental procedures
• Service and maintain rental equipment functionality
• Maintain inventory of rental merchandise, showroom displays, and parts
• Provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and written instructions as requested
• Attend training classes and obtain certifications for operating and servicing equipment

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
• Extensive product knowledge of rental equipment or a strong willingness to learn
• Sales and marketing experience in retail, promotions, or one‑on‑one sales preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills and pricing knowledge with sound decision‑making ability
• Proficiency with retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel preferred
• Ability to multi‑task, pay attention to detail, and work collaboratively
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and move boxes and rental equipment throughout the store
• Perform all physical tasks required for the role

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record meeting company insurance requirements – must be 22 or older
• Ability to drive heavy‑duty vehicles and trailers
