Student Worker – Water and Soil Lab Technician

The primary objective is to support teaching and research at the Water/Soil Lab under Dr. Barbosa supervision.
Assist with organizing and maintaining the water and soil laboratory to support teaching and research activities
Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, and equipment for class experiments
Clean, label, and store glassware, sampling containers, and laboratory supplies
Support students and help ensure materials are ready for class activities
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and notify the supervisor when materials need to be restocked
Follow laboratory safety procedures and help maintain a clean and safe working environment
Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies or Geography major (preferred) or any major
Basic understanding of water and soil concepts and laboratory organization
ENVS 111 completed
This position offers students valuable experience that supports both academic growth and future career opportunities in environmental and water resource fields.
Students will:
Gain practical experience working in a soil and water quality laboratory environment
Develop skills in sample handling, laboratory organization, and scientific data management.
