Position Summary:
The Pools Division Foreman is responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor on our pool installation team. The person in this position may operate a variety of hand and power tools, clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up debris and remove waste materials. The Pools Division Foreman may assist other craft workers and Foremen.
Key Responsibilities:· Performing a variety of tasks and assigned work duties involving strenuous manual labor on outdoor projects and worksites
· Maintaining a clean job site; picking up all tools and equipment and securing job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
· Loading and unloading trucks, hauling, material handling, and storage
· Carrying out opening and closing duties
· Maintaining personal health and sanitation standards
· Reading and interpreting safety/employment manuals and other work-related documents
· Complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and orderly facility
· Ensuring that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bringing problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director or HR Manager
- Supervising, training, and motivating the work of a 2-to-3-member crew to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
- Hands‑on work required with team members to complete projects in budget and on time
- Operation of a variety of construction equipment such as:
Skid Loader, Small Track Machine, Compactor, Laser Level, Compact Mini‑Excavator, etc. - Installation of pools, and accompanying features like patios, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and retaining walls using Bluestone, Travertine, and other natural stone as well as clay and concrete pavers.
- Coordinating with Project Managers to determine scope of work and plan equipment and material needs
- Understanding blueprints, landscape plans, and pool dig specifications to complete layout of project and installation
- Managing hours for each job, material costs and tracking, accurate time sheets for your crew members, daily communication of the job status, customer satisfaction, and continuous training of your crew.
- Coordinating with Branch Fleet Manager to maintain equipment, trucks, and trailers
· Performing other work‑related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)· Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction, landscape, and pool installations
· Ability to operate a transit or Zip Level, shoot grades, and perform tasks to prepare a site accordingly
· Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
· Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy/ construction work
· Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions is preferred
· Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
· Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
· Ability to communicate orally and in writing
· Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
· Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
· Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
· Take pride in their work, punctual, "can do" attitude, ability work with multiple departments
