Position: Veterinary Technician (Full-time/Part-time)
Location: Foulk Woods

We are seeking to add to our team an experienced Veterinary Technician. Our hospital provides exceptional veterinary care and support to our community’s pets.

The ideal candidate should have the knowledge, experience and passion to work in the veterinary field; be able to monitor and assist with surgical procedures unaided; have knowledge of canine and feline anatomy and diseases, work well within a small team providing support to the doctor during exams; have a strong sense of self-awareness within your work, have a positive work attitude and ability to manage the many emotions that come with this field in a professional manner, be reliable and able to work the shifts assigned, assist in all aspects of daily operations including client service duties and willingness to assist with any other area within the practice, work rotational weekend shifts,
as well as have the following skills:

  • Assist and support the Veterinarian with all of their duties; perform and accurately record evaluations, examination, vaccination, and medical treatments of patients.
  • Phlebotomy; obtain and properly handle/prepare in-house and outside laboratory specimens; IV catheter placement, general microscope, and centrifuge use.
  • Prepare animals for exams and surgical procedures, monitoring anesthesia and the ability to communicate with DVM critical patient evaluation.
  • Perform routine dental prophylaxis, capture digital dental x-rays.
  • Radiography; taking digital radiographs of animals both awake and anesthetized.
  • Pharmaceutical; accurately dispense and track medications; general knowledge of medications.
  • Perform medical treatments as designated; administer medications.
  • Assist with humane euthanasia.
  • Work in cooperation within different departments to ensure medical records and billing is up to date and correct; light administrative and receptionist duties; general nightly hospital clean up.
  • Strong interpersonal and clientele customer service a must.
  • Be able to lift animals that weigh 50lbs and assist with lifting animals that weigh more.
