Barback - Big Chill Beach Club Summary of Position
Barbacks are responsible for backing up bartenders. Barbacks have many responsibilities, but their overall purpose is to make sure that things are running smoothly at the bar. Their duties can include anything from replacing bottles to preparing garnishes, cleaning spills, and keeping bar stations stocked at all times. Must Enjoy the Ride!
* We offer both part and full time hours. This position pays $15/hour plus tips.
- Responsible for receiving, organizing, and shelving beer and liquor deliveries
- Prep freshly squeezed juice, mixes and garnishes at the prescribed par level needed for each day
- Stock cups, napkins, straws and ice at the start of day to ensure stations are ready for business
- Replace kegs and retrieve bottles from the walk-in cooler, and liquor storage
- Wash and restock speed pours containers and mixing tools as needed
- Clean spills at the bar and at customers’ tables as needed
- Monitor stations and re-stock cups, napkins, and straws and ice throughout shift as needed
- Assist the bartender with other tasks as needed
- Empty trash and recycling bins to correct bins and/or dumpsters
- Restock bottles and maintain inventory at each bar before and after each shift and as needed
- Wipe down the bar and tabletops before and after each shift and as needed
- Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business every time
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed, ability to balance personal & professional life
- Must work nights and weekends
- Professional appearance, punctual, reliable
- Hospitality soul with guest friendly demeanor
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to work in very fast paced environment
- Advanced written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
- Well organized
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, word processing, spreadsheet, internet, POS
- Frequently walk and occasionally bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch
- This position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds as well as climbing up and down stairs quite frequently during shifts
- Must have a current Alcohol Beverage Certificate in Delaware
