Marine Master Yamaha / Mercury Technician
One Water Marine’s service team is seeking a highly motivated Master Technician to join our team. The Marine Master Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of marine engines, electrical systems, and onboard equipment. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of marine systems to ensure vessels operate safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair inboard and outboard engines, sterndrives, and propulsion systems
- Perform routine maintenance, including tune‑ups, oil changes, and system inspections
- Repair and maintain electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems
- Install and test marine equipment such as navigation systems, radios, and accessories
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
- Lead and mentor apprentice technicians, providing training and technical guidance
- Stay current with new marine technologies, tools, and repair techniques and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs, timelines, and costs and maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

- Ability to communicate repairs and effectively document repairs
- Utilize pictures and media to support documented repairs
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in marine mechanics preferred
- 5+ years of experience in marine repair or a related field with Master certification from Yamaha, Mercury, or Volvo
- Advanced knowledge of outboard marine engines
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency with marine diagnostic tools and software
- Valid driver’s license; boating license/certification is a plus
Typical physical activities include maintaining a stationary position, standing or sitting for prolonged periods, repeating motions involving wrists, hands and fingers, moving about to accomplish tasks, operating a motor vehicle, and communicating with others. The position requires routine hearing, talking, seeing, and eye/hand/foot coordination, often at a constantly or frequently level.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment consists of indoor, controlled temperature office conditions with occasional exposure to intense weather when working on marine vessels. Physical demands include sedentary work with occasional light to medium lifting up to 50 pounds; instructions from the description indicate that light to medium lifting is required. There are no hazardous conditions, and ventilation is adequate.
