Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader
You will serve as an AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER in the MAINTENANCE OFFICE LITTLE CREEK of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
ResponsibilitiesDisassemble and repair a variety of components including compressors, evaporators, condensers, cooling coils, air handlers, bearings, water control valves, air dampers, etc. Apply knowledge and skill in the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration. Lubricate moving parts and replace air filters, V-belts, electrical motors, pulleys, sheaves, fan shafts, etc. Diagnose, locate and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems.
QualificationsRequired experience and training to demonstrate the necessary quality level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies. The following elements are used to determine minimum eligibility:
- Exhibit ability to lead or supervise.
- Apply knowledge and skill in the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration.
- Disassemble and repair a variety of components including compressors, evaporators, condensers, cooling coils, air handlers, bearings, water control valves, air dampers, etc.
- Lubricate moving parts and replace air filters, V-belts, electrical motors, pulleys, sheaves, fan shafts, etc.
- Lead a crew of more than three WG-10 Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanics and pass on instructions to get the work started.
- Advise the crew to follow instructions and plans to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate work in the field with crew, supervisors and customers.

Additional InformationThis position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Working hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
