As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping Q

You’ll combine technical expertise with business perceptiveness to engage potential customers, understand their requirements, and translate them into solutions based on our quantum communication technology. You will work closely with our Sales & Business Development Lead, Leadership Team, Product Team, and Engineering Team to deliver compelling proposals and ensure smooth transitions from prospecting to deployment.

Key Responsibilities- Act as the technical counterpart in sales conversations, explaining Q
* Bird’s technology and tailoring solutions to client needs by demonstrating product capabilities and performing proof‑of‑concept trials. - Work closely with the Sales & Business Development Lead on customer acquisition, sales proposals, technical qualification of leads, RFQ and RFP responses, and tender processes.
- Develop high‑quality white papers, presentations, and other technical content on customer use cases that clearly explain Q
* Bird’s solutions and highlight market relevance. - Guide customers and prospects on possible system setup and implementation approaches, helping them understand the path from concept to deployment.
- Understand customer security requirements and map them to suitable quantum and classical security solutions.
- Translate customer requirements into clear solutions and architectures involving QKD products.
- Act as a link between customers and product teams to ensure solution feasibility and seamless integration readiness.
- Assist with customer onboarding and transition to delivery/support teams, including initial post‑sales support.
- Contribute to sales strategies and help shape Q
* Bird’s go‑to‑market approach. - Strengthen partnerships with existing customers by proactively identifying their evolving needs and ensuring they receive the most relevant solutions and support.
- Stay up to date on quantum communication technologies and customer market trends.
- Attend and represent the company at trade shows, conferences, technical meetings, webinars, industry events, and other sales events to generate leads, network, and stay connected with the industry.
- A degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- Hands‑on familiarity with networking equipment, optical systems, or cryptography is a plus.
- A proven work experience in a technical sales, pre‑sales, or solution engineering role. Preferably in telecom or critical infrastructure sectors.
- Strong ability to explain complex technology to non‑technical stakeholders – can speak to engineers as well as executives.
- Understanding of quantum key distribution technology and its practical applications is a plus.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills in English (Proficiency in other languages would be a plus).
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a start‑up/scale‑up environment.
- Strong problem‑solving and customer service skills with a customer‑centric mindset.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required to meet with customers, hold demonstrations, and attend industry events.
