Role Overview
The Director – Chapters & Community will lead the strategy, development, and growth of the global chapter network.
This role is responsible for:
Launching and scaling professional chapters
Driving member engagement and community initiatives
Ensuring governance, consistency, and sustainability of chapters
Leading a small team responsible for chapter development, operations, and community marketing
The Director will work closely with senior stakeholders, volunteers, and partner organizations to build a strong and sustainable professional network.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute the chapter expansion roadmap.
Define annual targets for chapter launches, engagement, and participation.
Establish frameworks, policies, and processes for chapter formation and governance.
Identify new regions and markets for chapter development.
2. Chapter Development & Oversight
Oversee the formation and onboarding of new chapters.
Ensure chapters operate in alignment with the guidelines and ethical standards.
Monitor chapter performance, engagement levels, and activity.
Provide strategic guidance to chapter leaders and volunteers.
3. Community & Engagement
Lead initiatives that strengthen member engagement and retention.
Oversee events, webinars, and community programs across chapters.
Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing between chapters.
4. Team Leadership
Manage and mentor staff responsible for:
Chapter Development
Chapter Operations
Community Marketing & Events
Set clear goals and performance expectations.
Build a collaborative and mission-driven team culture.
5. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
Build relationships with industry leaders, corporate partners, and academic institutions.
Represent in meetings, forums, and events.
Identify opportunities for sponsor ships and strategic collaborations.
6. Governance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to policies, standards, and reporting requirements.
Oversee documentation, agreements, and operational procedures related to chapters.
Support periodic reporting to leadership and the board.
Qualifications & Experience
12-15 years of progressive experience in program management, community or membership initiatives, or professional association environments.
Demonstrated experience in developing or managing regional or global networks, chapters, or partner communities.
Experience leading community engagement, outreach, or marketing initiatives that increased participation, visibility, or member growth.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including senior professionals, volunteers, and partner organizations.
Experience supervising or mentoring teams and coordinating cross-functional activities.
Exposure to events, campaigns, or professional development programs will be considered an advantage.
Experience working in a nonprofit, certification body, or professional organization is preferred.
Familiarity with the technology or cybersecurity sector is desirable but not mandatory.
