Engineer - Carpenter

Summary: Lay-out and build walls-metal studs. Hang steel doors and steel frames. Re-align and repair damaged doors, frames and hardware. Install insulation and hang dry wall. Follows all operating procedures, safety regulations, and department policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Provides excellent guest service to guests and fellow associates in a professional manner at all times.
• Performs all repairs to doors, millwork, office furniture, and cabinetry throughout the property.
• Fabricates from blueprints any and all millwork and counter tops.
• Installs all doors, hardware, frames, cabinets, etc.
• Meets all safety requirements while operating any and all tools in the carpentry shop.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in commercial millwork carpentry.
• Must have basic mathematical skills.
• Must be in good physical shape in order to move in a fast pace position.
• Must be able to read written instructions and comprehend verbal instruction given in English.
• Must be able to install, adjust and repair commercial doors and jams.
• Must be able to fabricate counter tops using high pressure laminate and contact glues.
• Must be skilled in the use of all carpentry power tools, i.e. table saws, planers, nail guns, routers, jig saws, and skill saws.

Physical Requirements

• Must have normal sense of smell, sound, touch, hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity and normal vision range.
• Regularly walk, stand or stoop.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50-100 lbs.
• Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
• Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
• Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
• Need to distinguish between shades of color.
• Ability to communicate via radios.
