Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Delray Beach, Florida. This is a contract position within the real estate development industry, offering an opportunity to work on diverse financial tasks supporting large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to the financial success of our organization by ensuring accurate reporting and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

- Perform account and bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

- Analyze budgets and track expenses to support project financial goals.

- Prepare detailed financial reports and provide insights to project managers.

- Process invoices and monitor expense accounts for compliance and accuracy.

- Collaborate with project teams to review financial performance and address discrepancies.

- Contribute to financial planning and forecasting processes for development projects.

- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.

- Support audits and provide documentation as needed. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, preferably within real estate or project accounting.

- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget management.

- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

- Certification or progress toward certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
