Position: Project Accountant (Construction)

Job Overview

A successful GC is looking to bring on a permanent Project Accountant. Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 per year. This role is part of a rapidly growing construction team.

Responsibilities

Oversee all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing.

Conduct regular financial analysis to identify potential cost overruns, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets, track actual costs against budget, and forecast future costs.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Prepare regular financial reports for senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.

Work closely with the finance team to integrate project accounting with overall company financial management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.

Proficiency in accounts payable and receivable, cost accounting, and financial analysis.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.

Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

High level of integrity, with a commitment to upholding company values and ethical standards.
