Experienced Automotive Technician

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $ Annually

Determine each customer’s vehicle needs and wants by asking questions and listening.

• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair automotive systems to specifications—knowledge of electrical and computer systems is a plus.
• Have knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials.
• Remove and reinstall engines if needed.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non‑mechanical individuals, including teammates and customers.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Test‑drive vehicles and test components and systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay abreast of rapidly changing automotive technology.
• Know and understand federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and clean service department.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey solutions to others.
• Must demonstrate ability to pass pre‑employment testing, including background checks and MVR.
• Minimum of 2 years automotive repair experience, with 2 years required.
• Experience in diesel, transmission, or drivetrain work is preferred.
