The Senior Accountant will serve as a key member of the Corporate Accounting & Finance team, reporting to the corporate accounting manager, supporting U.S.
-based operations headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida. This role focuses on monthly and quarterly close, U.S. GAAP financial reporting, balance sheet integrity, and variance analysis, working closely with FP&A and senior leadership.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Own balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
- Perform balance sheet and overhead account reviews, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
- Prepare and analyze budget vs. actual variance analyses, including explanations for management
- Support hedging activity reconciliations, including tracking hedge settlements and mark-to-market entries
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for internal management and external stakeholders
- Support the annual financial audit, bank audits, and tax return preparation by compiling schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance close efficiency and reporting quality
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, and senior leadership
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses as requested by management
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all company policies, laws, and ethical standards
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Master’s degree a plus, but not required.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public/private blend environment.
- Strong experience with U.S. GAAP reporting.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience performing budget vs. actual and variance analysis.
- Exposure to hedging or derivative accounting strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Net Suite (Oracle) or similar ERP systems strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of general ledger structure and financial statements.
