Job Title: Experienced Ophthalmic Technician

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Position Summary

We are seeking an Experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our busy ophthalmology practice. This role is essential to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting physicians with clinical, diagnostic, and administrative tasks.
Refraction experience is required. Candidates with strong ophthalmic or healthcare backgrounds who are eager to grow are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient intake, including medical history, chief complaint documentation, and preliminary assessments
  • Conduct ophthalmic testing such as visual acuity, refraction, intraocular pressure, visual fields, and other diagnostic evaluations
  • Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during exams, procedures, and minor in-office surgeries
  • Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, including OCT, fundus photography, and other imaging systems
  • Educate patients on eye conditions, treatment plans, medications, contact lenses, eyeglasses, and post-operative care
  • Ensure exam rooms and equipment are properly cleaned, calibrated, and maintained
  • Provide compassionate patient support and ensure patient comfort throughout visits
  • Accurately document findings in the electronic medical record while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Support front-office and administrative functions as needed, including scheduling, referrals, and insurance coordination
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of ophthalmic experience required
  • Strong healthcare experience will be considered; training provided for the right candidate
  • Refraction experience required
  • COA or COT certification preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
