Location: Sunscape Boca Raton, Delray Beach, FL

• Assist in general operational maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the community’s physical plant.
• Communicate and coordinate necessary tasks to accomplish repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems.
• Perform general maintenance work (light, electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.) and demonstrate excellent mechanical skills.
• Understand HVAC and may be asked to operate and/or maintain equipment.
• Replenish and maintain supply levels in work areas.
• Ensure all tools, work areas, and equipment are clean, in proper working order, and properly stored.
• Assure community environment and all equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
• Consistently maintain and repair assigned equipment and report any hazardous conditions.
• Routinely replace light bulbs, exit lights, room call lights, etc., where needed.
• Conduct daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to determine necessary maintenance and repairs.
• Help ensure other team members follow established safety practices (OSHA).
• Maintain general appearance of the building, including assisting and cleaning up after events and general clean up during scheduled shift, and arranging furniture on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance log on all mechanical systems and establish/manage a preventative maintenance schedule.
• Maintain an effective work‑order system procedure.
• Participate in in‑service training.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
• Submit weekly invoices and spend‑down report to Environmental Services Director.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laundry room and store chemicals in accordance with product and Environmental Services Director instructions.
• Ensure all safety rules and regulations are followed at all times.
• Follow and promote all safety policies and procedures when performing maintenance service.
• Perform Resident Emergency Call System checks in resident units when requested.
• Report on‑job injuries to Environmental Services Director before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Communicate effectively with Environmental Services Director and other team members.

• High School Diploma.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance and housekeeping policies and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the community.
• Understands practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste.
• Demonstrates competency in performing duties and responsibilities with sound judgment and reports unusual problems/conditions to the Environmental Services Director.
• Valid Driver’s License, preferably a Commercial Driver’s License.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively write simple correspondence.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members.
• Physically able to bend and reach.
• Physically able to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds if necessary.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods of time.
