The Perioperative Nurse is responsible for keeping patients safe during surgery by providing care before, during, and after surgery. This position ensures the operating room is clean and sterile while prepping for procedures and remains in the operating room to aid the surgeon when needed. Aid includes tasks such as positioning the patient, sterilizing wounds, and monitoring the patient’s vital signs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Delivers safe patient care according to facility policies and procedures.
• Assesses the patient’s conditions prior to surgery.
• Administers preoperative medications prescribed.
• Monitors the patient during surgery.
• Assists surgeon in the operating room; positions patients, passes sterile supplies, etc.
• Maintains aseptic technique within a controlled environment.
• Manages surgical equipment and supplies.
• Completes intraoperative documentation.
• Monitors physiologic status of patient in recovery.
• Completes postoperative documents.
• Demonstrates ability to make sound decisions in emergency scenarios.
• Collaborates with surgical team members and other medical professionals on patient medication and care.
• Documents medical data in Nex Tech (EHR system) accurately.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization by working effectively as a team member with management and clinic staff.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

• At least 1–2 years of operating room experience in an ASC/office‑based surgery center preferred.
• At least 1 year of preoperative, circulating, and PACU experience required.
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to multitask with strong organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills – fosters an environment of collaboration and respect with physician colleagues, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
• Flexible schedule; operating days can start as early as 6 am.

• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current state nursing license (RN)
• BS or diploma in nursing

• Monday – Friday, no nights, no weekends
