Position Summary

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the STUDIO Fitting Specialist works in partnership with all store associates and the store leadership team to provide an exceptional shopping experience and execute company directives.

The STUDIO Fitting Specialist champions the PGA TOUR Superstore ‘Customer First’ philosophy and provides a world‑class fitting experience utilizing technology, fitting components, and techniques beyond the free club fitting service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and acknowledging every customer, listening to their needs, and responding with applicable solutions within our service offerings and merchandise selection.
  • Execute a specialized fitting experience, providing a unique illustration of specialty golf club components from key vendor partners.
  • Assess each customer’s needs by determining their level of play, then find the most effective product for them.
  • Educate customers on club and ball technology, club components, and fitting techniques so that purchase decisions can be made according to desired results and realistic performance expectations.
  • Be an expert in the use of industry‑leading club fitting technology, including various launch monitor technologies as well as OEM‑specific fitting technologies.
  • Teach and train other associates on fitting techniques and product/set makeups.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve them to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high level of product and industry knowledge.
  • Complete work lists and bulletin directives on a timely basis.
  • Assist with floor moves, implementing merchandising standards, and display maintenance.
  • Walk the work area(s) daily to correct issues, ensure implementation of merchandising standards, maintain a clean and safe shopping environment, and suggest improvements to the Services supervisor.
  • Adhere to approved loss prevention programs that minimize inventory shrinkage and support the sales/profitability of the store; provide feedback to store leadership on loss prevention issues/opportunities as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Communication: Strong listening and interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate with other associates.
  • Analytical: Business skills to develop solutions to common problems, identify opportunities, and develop strategies to increase sales and improve operational processes.
  • Computer: Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet; ability to learn scheduling software, simulator software, and basic report functions.
  • Organization: Ability to organize multiple priorities and accomplish several tasks throughout shifts while providing excellent service to customers.
  • Skills: Implement established fitting principles, apply ball flight principles to evaluate customers’ needs, identify and describe characteristics of club components and their impact on ball flight, the club fitting process, and commonly used fitting tools; effective teacher/trainer able to work with other associates.
Education

The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a G.E.D. or high school diploma. Original Equipment Manufacturing Training or Vendor training certification is a plus.

Experience

Three to five (3‑5) years of club fitting and golf equipment sales experience preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for extended periods, climb up and down a ladder, move throughout the store, and lift a 30 lb. box overhead. Candidate must be able to work a flexible work week, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs. Occasional travel may be required for company‑initiated continuing education or for assisting with new‑store set‑up and training.
