Semi‑skilled and manual work in installing and painting barricades and signs. Work is performed under close supervision.

Mon‑Fri.: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

• Knowledge of traffic sign installation procedures.
• Knowledge of operations of simple paint spraying equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to assemble signs.
• Ability to generate simple street signs using sign equipment.
• Ability to measure for layout of road markings.
• Skill in the use of common hand tools.
• Basic math skills.
• Skill in reading and writing the English language.

• High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Entry‑level mechanical aptitude preferred.

• Must possess a Level I IMSA certification or obtain it within one (1) year from the hire date.
• Must possess a valid Florida Class B, CDL, or obtain it within six months from hire.

It is the policy of the City of Delray Beach that persons having a CDL and participating in activities regulated by DOT are subject to drug testing and alcohol testing. The Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991 requires alcohol and drug testing of safety‑sensitive employees in aviation, motor carriers, railroad, and mass transit industries. Provisions of this policy are based upon said Act and the relevant federal regulations applicable to the Act.

As a condition of employment, the City of Delray Beach reserves the right to require all employees having a CDL and performing safety‑sensitive activities regulated by DOT to submit at any time to drug and/or alcohol testing to determine the presence of prohibited substances.

A comparable combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
