Our Accounting Team is actively seeking a Payroll Clerk. In this dynamic role, you will join a payroll team and be responsible for completing full-cycle payroll for Niradia employees located at multiple sites.
About the Job/Responsibilities- Implements, maintains and reviews full-cycle payroll for employees including processing new hires, terminations and rate changes, direct deposits, garnishments, taxes, pension, T-4s, and other deductions
- Must have experience in BC & Alberta Payroll, hourly & salaried employees
- Prepare fiscal year-end accruals for salaried employees
- Monitors reconciliation of payroll accounts for month-end
- Reconciliation of all accrued vacation to general ledger on a quarterly basis
- Maintains Payroll systems and records including payroll audits while working with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure benefits and payroll services are delivered at best practice standards
- Preparing year-end employee tax slips/ forms and submitting government filings to meet deadlines
- Analyzing expenses against benefits budget to help prepare cost forecasts and budgets
- Diploma or post-secondary degree in business or related field preferred
- PCP or PCM designation considered an asset
- Experience in hospitality and/or construction payroll an asset
- General knowledge of best practices for payroll and well-versed with the Employment Standards Act (ESA) for both BC and Alberta
- Preferably experience with Pay Works, and Sage 300
- Experience with Push software considered an asset
- Knowledge of business finance including accounting principles and practices
- Provide a balanced and common-sense approach to routine complex issues
- Must be a dependable, team-player with superior interpersonal skills; works well while under pressure or in stressful situations
