When you visit a Coast branch, you're greeted with a line of smiling faces ready to help you with your everyday banking needs. Our friendly Member Advice Specialists are sales and customer service superstars who bring our "How can we help you?" brand to life with every member they interact with. Imagine helping our members with fulfilling basic personal credit needs, selling and handling Low Fee More for Me Mutual Funds, term deposits, RRSPs, setting up electronic services like our internet banking, opening free chequing accounts, and adding overdraft protection to help avoid nasty NSF charges.
Member Advice Specialists do two very important things: they are sales pros who uncover opportunities to help members with our products and services, and they determine who in the company can best help the member, whether that’s themselves or another teammate.
- Delivering positive and unexpected customer experiences through general retail banking.
- Engaging customers in the "Where You Are At Money Chat" to help them save, grow, protect, and improve their financial well‑being.
- Working as a high‑performing team member within the branch to ensure all checks and balances are completed according to policies and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively offering helpful solutions and alternatives to customer inquiries.
- Achieving sales and referral targets in a needs‑based sales environment.
- Certificate in Investment Funds in Canada is a must‑have requirement at the time of application.
- Ability to add and subtract for simple financial help.
- Minimum three years of experience helping members in a bank or credit union, preferably with lending, investments, and sales/referral opportunity spotting.
- Post‑secondary education in finance, business administration, or a related field, with a desire to continue learning.
- Strong relationship‑building skills and a commitment to helping a wide variety of people.
- Teamwork spirit and daily demonstration of team values.
- Multi‑tasking ability with high attention to detail and effective prioritization.
We believe everyone has potential and are committed to building better, brighter, more inclusive futures for all employees and members. We strongly encourage applications from Indigenous Peoples, Black and racialised persons, persons with disabilities, people of diverse sexual and gender identities, and women. Applicants who demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion are especially valued. If your experience does not perfectly align with every qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply.
